Chef Justin O'Reilly grew up learning to hunt & fish in Northern & Southern Saskatchewan. This created a foundation of understanding the true nature of working for your food & showing respect for the ingredients. After many years & many hours of working his way up the restaurant industry chain, and after meeting his life-partner, Hillary, who has been vegetarian for many years, he decided to research & focus his passion & skills towards plant-based cuisine. After opening one of the first plant-focused restaurants on the Canadian prairies, he left Saskatoon to open Matthew Kenney's first restaurant in Canada in Edmonton, Alberta. After a year in Edmonton, Justin returned home to Saskatoon to pivot his career towards introducing future leaders to proper, healthy & localized food. He heads the culinary program Fueling Minds within Building Brains Early Learning Centre.
Justin has staged & worked at many notable restaurants over the years including Husk in Nashville where Sean Brock was the Executive Chef, & Plant Food & Wine in Venice Beach where Scott Winegard was the Executive Chef.
